Investing in Marketing vs. Investing in Customer Service

I see companies spending FORTUNES on spectacular marketing campaigns, creative ads, influencers… For what?

So that when the customer arrives, asks a basic question, and is served by a useless bot, or is responded to days later, or is treated poorly. 🤦‍♂️

What’s the point of attracting thousands of customers if you scare them away with terrible service? It’s like filling a bucket with a giant hole in the bottom.

Customer service is NOT an expense, it’s an INVESTMENT. A well-served customer comes back, recommends you, and becomes the best “word of mouth” marketing (which is still one of the most effective, isn’t it?).

Prioritize attention, quick response, problem solving, and transparency. That builds loyalty. That builds trust. That means that even if your marketing isn’t the most “creative” or “viral,” your business will grow steadily.

Stop outsourcing customer service if you are not going to supervise the quality. Or train your staff to have a sense of belonging and treat the customer as a person, not a number.
